Things to know/ FAQ's
What kinds of photos work best?
Clear, well-lit photos with good contrast and defined subjects (faces, objects, pets) work best. We often have to crop images and remove or reduce minor details (e.g. random objects/ people in the background) for optimal results for the size of the canvas.
What photos don't work well for custom paint kits?
Blurry, low-resolution, dark, over-exposed photos with lots of minor intricate details do not work well. If a photo is not suitable, we will contact you to request a new image.
How long does it take to receive my kit?
Each kit is handmade to order. Allow 5-7 working days for your custom paint kit to be completed and dispatched, plus delivery time. Please refer to the product description above to see shipping schedules for November and December.
What happens to my photo when I upload it?
Your photo will be used by our artist to create a handmade sketch which is then converted into your custom canvas. It's stored securely and deleted after 60 days after your order is complete. We never use customer photos for marketing and social media without permission.
Can you create group kits for events (like bachelorette parties, baby showers, and themed events)?
Yes! You can fill out our enquiry form here and we will be in touch with a custom quote.
Can I return my order?
Because each custom canvas is handmade just for you, based on your chosen photo, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once the artwork has been created.
However, if there is any issue with your order e.g. damage during shipping, or a mistake in the design, please get in touch with photographs within 3 days of getting the kit, and we'll do everything we can to make it right.
How is this different from paint-by-numbers?
We're somewhere between a blank canvas and a paint-by-numbers kit. We turn your photo into an intuitive sketch that guides the painting process. But the paint colours, style, and details are up to you. It's guided, but lets your creativity shine.
Is there anything you don't provide?
Yes, you'll need a cup of water to dilute your paints and clean your brushes, and a tissue to wipe your brushes.

At The Easel Club, we take your privacy seriously.
When you upload a photo, it is only used to create your custom pre-sketched canvas and print out one reference image that is included in your custom paint kit, nothing else.
How it works:
- Your photo is sent securely through our website form to our internal studio.
- It’s stored locally on a password-protected computer for the duration of your order.
- Only authorised team members (usually just me!) can access your image.
- Photos are permanently deleted within 60 days of delivery.
We never use your photo for marketing or social media unless you give written permission.
If you'd like your image deleted sooner, please contact us with your order number.
